The need
Batteries are heavy, bulky and need careful tracking. Units leaving production go both to the dealer network and to export, and each channel has its own packing, labelling and paperwork habits. The default flow of an off-the-shelf warehouse app didn't match the routines Esan had built on the floor over the years.
The solution
The base is Nitrogen PDA's warehouse modules: receiving, shipping, transfers and counts are done on handhelds. For steps unique to Esan, extra screens and rules were developed on the Nitrogen platform; they run inside the same app on the same Mikro data. Staff don't open a separate program.
The results
- Company-specific flows live inside the standard warehouse app
- Dealer and export shipments are prepared from one system
- Customisations never broke away from Mikro data
