Order-Based BOM and Production Tracking System

Take the order from Mikro ERP, build a BOM specific to each order line in Nitrogen and run production in its own database; consumption and finished goods go back to Mikro as documents. No dependency on Mikro's production module or fixed product trees.

Why it matters

Problems it solves

Who it's for: Mikro ERP users whose products change with each order: made-to-measure curtains, furniture, doors and windows, metal, packaging; chemicals, paints and cosmetics producers making batches to customer-specific formulas; project-based producers such as machinery, steel construction and custom fabrication; businesses whose Mikro production module does not fit

  • 01

A BOM per order isn't practical

Size, colour and options change with every order; defining a product tree for every variant in Mikro is not sustainable.

  • 02

    Production happens outside Mikro, unrecorded

Orders are in Mikro, production in spreadsheets; what was produced for which order and how much material it used is estimated at month end.

  • 03

Stock and cost don't add up

Consumption and finished goods are keyed into Mikro by hand or not at all, so stock is off at counting and cost is off at invoicing.

Modules

What it offers

  • Orders from Mikro

Orders, accounts and stock items are read from Mikro; lines to produce are selected and new orders appear in the list automatically.

  • Order-specific BOM

A BOM for each order line based on size and options; derived from a template, quantities calculated by formula and adjustable by hand.

  • Production orders and planning

Production orders from lines with a ready BOM; priority, due date, line and station assignment, with material shortages shown in advance.

  • Floor entry

Operators record output, scrap and downtime on a tablet or handheld, print labels and assign serial or lot numbers.

  • Its own database

BOMs, production orders and floor records live in the Nitrogen database; Mikro is not loaded and needs no production module.

  • Documents back to Mikro

Actual consumption and finished goods are sent to Mikro as stock documents; every transfer and error is logged.

How it works

The process step by step

  1. 01

    Order comes from Mikro

The sales order is entered in Mikro and the lines to produce are pulled into Nitrogen.

  2. 02

    BOM is built

An order-specific BOM is built from the line's size and options, and material needs are calculated.

  3. 03

    Produced

The production order reaches the floor; operators record output, scrap and downtime.

  4. 04

    Back to Mikro

Consumption and finished goods are posted to Mikro as documents; stock and cost stay current.

Integrations

Works with

  • Mikro ERP orders, accounts and stock items
  • Consumption and production receipt documents to Mikro
  • Own SQL database (cloud or on-premise)
  • Material issue and finished goods receipt with Nitrogen PDA

Order-based production tied to the ERP: BOM and production in a separate app

Orders, accounts and stock stay in the ERP; the order-specific BOM and production run in a separate app, and results go back to the ERP as documents. A practical route for manufacturers whose product changes with each order, including chemicals and project-based production.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

No. BOMs, production orders and floor records live in Nitrogen's own database. Only orders, accounts and stock items are read from Mikro, and results are written back as consumption and production receipt documents.

No. One template BOM is defined per product group, and quantities are calculated by formula from the size and options on the order line. Order-specific adjustments are possible when needed.

Nitrogen UTS is our standard production product that works with Mikro's work order and product tree structure. In this solution BOMs and production are managed in Nitrogen per order, and Mikro stays the order source and the stock and cost ledger.

Yes. In chemicals, a formula specific to the order line becomes the BOM and production is tracked by batch number. In project-based production, order lines are tied to projects and phases, and each phase's BOM, progress and cost are shown separately. In both cases results go back to Mikro as documents.

Production data is kept in a separate SQL database on your own server or on Nitrogen cloud infrastructure, as you prefer; accounting and stock records stay in Mikro.
