Sound familiar?

Which problems does Nitrogen UTS solve?

The sentences we hear most often in the field, and the answer to each.

  • “We only learn where an order stands when we walk the floor.”

    With Nitrogen UTS

    Live work-order tracking

Each work order's operation, machine and completion rate is on screen, with delays listed separately.

  • “Production is written on paper and keyed into Mikro at night.”

    With Nitrogen UTS

    Instant entry from the floor

Operators enter output, consumption and scrap at their station, posted to Mikro at the same time.

  • “We don't know why a machine stopped or for how long.”

    With Nitrogen UTS

    Downtime and efficiency records

Downtime is logged with a reason and efficiency is reported per machine and operation.

  • “We don't know what a product really costs us.”

    With Nitrogen UTS

    Pre-cost versus actual cost

The pre-cost in the bill of materials is compared with actual consumption stage by stage.

Step by step

The process end to end with Nitrogen UTS

  1. 01

    Work order

The order comes from Mikro; the work order is created in UTS or taken from Mikro.

  2. 02

    Planning

The work order is sequenced to a line, machine or subcontractor by capacity.

  3. 03

    Material issue

Materials are issued from the warehouse to production, by barcode with Nitrogen PDA.

  4. 04

    Operator entry

The operator starts the job; output, consumption, downtime and scrap are entered at the station.

  5. 05

    Quality check

Finished goods are checked with Nitrogen QMS forms; the result drives shipping.

  6. 06

    Completion and costing

Output and cost data are posted to Mikro and the work order closes.

Planning 4

  • Pre-costing and BOMSet pre-costs in price and currency, and create BOMs and technical instructions.
  • Production planningProduct-to-workshop plans, subcontractor and line load, actuals tracking.
  • Work order and routingDefine and authorise processes, and manage revisions and delays.
  • Customer order managementTrack different loading requests in one order and prepare work orders separately or combined.

Shop floor 3

  • Barcode production trackingInstant data capture at subcontractors and on lines, department tracking by barcode.
  • Operational efficiencyModel operation lists from time studies, efficiency tracking.
  • Barcode cartons and loadingTrack export loads by barcode and create quality and packing lists.

Route and station tracking 6

  • Routes by set and lineOrder lines are grouped into sets; which station each set has finished, is in and is waiting for is tracked.
  • Rule-based station queueOnly jobs whose earlier steps are complete reach the station queue; operators start, finish and print labels.
  • Production dashboardTotal, started, in-production, completed, past-due and blocked orders and sets by plant and station.
  • Bottlenecks and watch listWaiting work and average and longest wait per station; past-due, blocked and quality-issue sets in one list.
  • Staff assignmentAssign orders to teams or staff at stations such as assembly, with assigned and unassigned work kept apart.
  • Quality issues, blocking and shippingLog quality issues and block a set from the station; once all sets are done, the order drops into the ready-to-ship list.

Materials, quality and costing 6

  • Material requirements (MRP)Source materials just in time and reduce idle stock cost.
  • Purchasing and materialsLot or shelf-level tracking; barcode lot management on mobile.
  • Raw material QCChecks integrated with fabric rolling machines, with defect maps.
  • Finished goods QCSchedule inspections on the web, enter results and measure supplier performance.
  • Cost managementAnalyse pre-cost against actual cost stage by stage.
  • Cost accountingPost actual costs to accounting; profitability and statements update automatically.

Hardware

Hardware solutions for your production floor

Station devices matter as much as the software. We plan kiosks, tablets, handhelds, scales, barcode printers and scanners from the brands we work with, together with your production processes.

  • Kiosks and touch panels

Starting jobs · Output entry · Scrap and downtime

Use touch kiosks and panel PCs at production stations so operators can start work orders and record output, scrap and downtime. Choose the screen size and mounting to suit your working environment.

Chosen per project by screen size and mounting

  • Tablets

Plan tracking · Work orders · Shift control

Follow the production plan, work orders and station status on a larger screen on the floor. Choose tablets for shift supervisors and foremen according to where they will be used.

  • Handheld terminals

Material issue · Output receipt · Traceability

Scan barcodes with handheld terminals when issuing materials to production, receiving semi-finished and finished goods and reading labels, so traceability records are created on the floor.

  • Weighbridges and scales

Material weighing · Count by weight · Output weighing

Plan scales and weighbridges together with your stations for weighing materials by recipe, counting pieces by weight and recording output weight. Choose options that suit the capacity and precision you need.

  • Wired and wireless barcode scanners

Work order scans · Label checks · Station

Consider wired or wireless scanners for reading work order, product and label barcodes at stations. Pick the device for the reading distance and connection you need.

  • Desktop barcode printers

Output labels · Batch labels · Carton labels

Prepare semi-finished, finished, batch and carton labels next to the production point. Choose options that suit your print volume, label size and material.

    • Kodprint
  • Industrial barcode printers

End of line · Packing · Pallet labels

For busy production lines, end-of-line and packing points, choose industrial printers that suit your print volume and conditions.

  • Mobile Bluetooth printers

On-the-spot labels · Buffer stock · Dispatch point

Print labels where the work is done: on the line, in buffer areas or at the dispatch point. Consider the device connection and print type together.

Android 10 or later is recommended for handhelds and tablets.

Let's choose the right hardware for your production floor together

Tell us how many stations you have, the device groups you want to use and your label needs; we will assess the hardware together with your production flow.

Brands show the options we work with in each product group; model and application compatibility is assessed separately for your needs.
